Yuku free message boards

This post is in no way meant to harm the canvas I just think that free speech should be allowed not squashed. So since there are new rules to modify our behavior (orignial posters words not mine) I know there are going to be comments and such.

Personally I'm outraged. Yes i know there needs to be rules but come on its starting to get ridiculous to the point where people do not understand why they are being restricted or banned and not getting any answers.

I think that we as a group need to be able to openly discuss things without the fear of banning hanging over our heads and yes that is whats happening. This place used to be a haven for Liason fans now it feels more like a dictatorship where if you step out of line your gone just like that.

This board needs to get back to how it used to be where people were allowed to respectfully express their opinions because yes not everyone is going to agree all the time but the right to have their own thoughts and feelings is whats makes the world great and come on who doesnt like a good debate.

These are simply my opinions I hardly ever post but have been closely watching the happenings and changes occuring on this board that I have been a member of for 6 years now.

Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the subject at hand because as pregoandragu stated, I am one of those people that was away on a trip for the last couple of weeks, and came back to a chaotic Canvas. I have heard about a certain 411 post but I have never seen it, nor been able to comment on it.

We pry ourselves in the fact that we´re a serious fanbase, where people can comment and discuss. But above all, most of us are adults. People first, fans later. If I have something to say on the matter, I should be allowed to do it, without having to proofread my post 100 times to make sure I haven´t said anything that will "upset" the administrators.

I have been around The Canvas for a couple of years, and the only thing I can say is that it feels to me like people are not allowed to comment anything out of "I love them" "This is great" or "I´m super duper happy"...without having their post deleted or moved to the rant thread.

If a post such as "I have loved Liason today because blah blah blah...(going on to 300 words)" is not a rant, the a post that goes on to say the exact oposite, should not have to be categorized as a rant either.

Just my thoughts. I hope the administrators will consider the feelings of all members that wish to express them, and take them into consideration, allowing us to be a part of this situation and not just bystanders.

I hope that I won't be pounced on when I say that I respectfully disagree. I like the conduct rules. I've been to many other sites. In fact I was at them before I found TC. I like the positive attitude that exists here at TC now. If I wanted to hear about how much someone hates something Elizabeth or Jason did, I'd go to the ABC message board. Trust me, they find a way to make anything and everything negative. I stopped visiting that site almost immediately after I found this place. I understand that many feel frustrated because it feels like the right to free speech is being taken away, but what about my (and anyone else who feels like me) right to be happy about Liason and/or GH and not have to worry that someone is going to say something negative that brings me (us) down? Yes, there are days when I don't like something, but that is what the RANT (maybe if the name were changed it would be better?) thread is for. It keeps all the negativity in ONE place, so that people who aren't feeling negatively towards something do not have to be ambushed with it. And, yes, that is what it feels like when I am feeling good about Liason and/or GH and I see something negative about them posted: AMBUSHED. I can honestly say that, though I have never complained, I HAVE exited threads that I intended to post in upon seeing such negativity about Liason because I no longer felt comfortable, and that was NOT because of the admins. It is my feeling that posting anything you feel negatively about in the rant thread is good and what the rant thread is in fact intended for. I feel that if that bothers someone, then maybe it's like the saying misery loves company because that's exactly what happens. When someone posts something negative, which maybe makes them feel better after posting the negative feelings, the negativity moves on to those of us who happen to read it, and I DON'T feel better after that. On websites like DD and ABC I expect to read the negative things anywhere on the sites, and so I avoid them or prepare myself before going to them. I don't want to have to expect to do that here. This is my safe place where I can vent in one place if I need to. I LOVE it here, but I would not love it if I had to worry about reading something negative in any and every thread. As for being able to discuss bannings, rules, opposing opinions with the admins, or whatever, I recall both Brooke and Amy stating that they would be happy to answer anyone THROUGH PM. That works for me for several reasons. 1)When I have a problem/disagreement about something, I don't need or want the attention of a public forum. 2) I don't feel it necessary to participate in everyone else's problems/disagreements/personal business. 3) If things need to be made public, they will be. If it isn't necessary, then by all means keep it PRIVATE. That's just how I've always personally felt as I am a private person. My family makes fun of me for that sometimes because none of them are even close to being as private as me.
For the record, I don't presume to talk for anyone but myself, and I was under the impression that anyone's reaction was wanted in this thread. If that's not the case, then I'm sorry for interrupting the thread, and I hope everyone has a great day.
